Discover some of the best views in Raetihi from the top of the Ameku Road walkway.

This short walk can be done as a round trip from town, or park at the bottom and follow the track up the hill.  The climb is approx. 90m of elevation and is currently just over 1km each way.  Walk or run from town for a roughly 7km round trip.

• Stunning views of Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngāuruhoe

• Views towards Taranaki to the west, the Paraparas, Waiouru, Rangataua and Waimarino to the south

• Look over the working Raetihi sawmill

• Enjoy a picnic at the top

NO dogs - there are nesting Kiwi and other native birds plus stock (sheep and cattle) we need to look after.

Toilets are available at the start/finish.
The entrance is to the south of the sawmill, for your own safety, please do not enter this working industrial site
